The Public Development Corporation of New York City needed fishery habitat compensation plans as mitigation for habitat loss due to proposed redevelopment construction projects in the Hudson River Estuary.

- Selected artificial reef habitat enhancement technology based on at-risk fisheries, habitat requirements, and oceanographic and substrate data
- Designed feasibility study to evaluate artificial reef system performance
Results of Aquabio's Fishery Habitat Mitigation Plan
- Based on Aquabio’s plans and recommendations, University of New York at Stonybrook developed an integrated program to monitor mitigation impacts and performance for target fish species.
